Is there a particular moment that SPARKed your interest in writing a book?

I wrote this children’s story many years ago and based it upon an actual incident with my twin boys when they were little and spending time with their amazing grandparents.

What surprises did you encounter on the road to writing and publishing the book?

Having already published For the Love of Wine, a “Wine 101” book, with SPARK Publications, I was already pretty familiar with the process.

SPARK Publications helped to fine-tune the manuscript and selected a wonderful illustrator who perfectly executed my vision.

Now that your book is published, are there any goals or experiences you’re looking forward to?

I am looking forward to traveling to ocean communities to sell my book to beach boutiques.

What advice do you have for other authorpreneurs and aspiring writers?

Finish what you start. It is so rewarding to see your great ideas completed.

Tell us about your future plans—what’s next for you?

I am already working on the “mountain” version of this book that will be entitled Can You Strut Like a Moose?

If you could broadcast a few sentences to the entire world, what would they be?

I would tell the world, “Connect with those around you. Read a story to a child. Share food and wine with conversation. Go outside and experience nature and life. Never stop learning. Find your passions.”

Do you have a podcast, regular event, and/or run or manage a nonprofit? Outside of your business, what are your hobbies and passions? Do you belong to any groups for these activities?

Outside of writing and the winery, I am busy watching twin teenage boys play golf and tennis!
