Jess Mollo and her company, Piper Fox Co., are all about teaching kids kindness while they’re young and raising them kind! It’s important to challenge children daily to always be the best version of themselves and pass that positivity on to those around them. With Piper Fox Shows Kindness, she hopes to teach just that!
At first, Piper thinks her baby brother, Winston, is just making a mess. Then she realizes he’s copying her as she shows kindness to her family and friends. This heart-warming tale shows readers how we can all show kindness like Piper even if it’s in our own way! It doesn’t matter how we’re kind, it just matters that we are! Grab this book and enjoy Piper’s story followed by a kindness checklist for you and your little one to do at home!
Piper Fox Co. is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was founded on the principle of spreading kindness, popularized through their clothing line and motivational campaigns. The clothing line represents all things kind and donates back to local nonprofits with each item sold. Jess is active in the local community and strives to spread kindness everywhere she goes, which was the inspiration for putting together the book! She resides in Charlotte with her husband, Mike, and her son, Beckett. Their family is completed by her dogs, Piper and Winston!
Jess on working with SPARK Publications
SPARK Publications was amazing through the whole journey. They worked with me when I found the artist I wanted. They were always available when I had some random bright idea. Fabi was always responsive as well. She even responded on weekends to me, which in my eyes shows dedication! Mel was a huge part of the puzzle as well, as she was my main contact. She truly made the whole process feel so comfortable and friendly! I would recommend them time and time again (and I already have!) to anyone wanting to take their dreams and turn them into reality. Write the book you want and use them—you won’t regret it!
Is there a particular moment that SPARKed your interest in writing a book?
I’ve always wanted to write a children’s book, but it wasn’t until I became pregnant myself that I decided to turn that dream into reality! I wanted to see this children’s book on my son’s shelf one day, so I made it happen.
Now that your book is published, are there any goals or experiences you’re looking forward to?
Yes! Now that it’s published, I am looking forward to writing more! I want to write a series of books with different lessons for the children of our future!
What surprises did you encounter on the road to writing and publishing the book?
There is so much that goes into writing a book. I never realized the process had so many moving parts. SPARK Publications came in and knocked it out of the water. I couldn’t have done it without them.
How did SPARK Publications help in championing and publishing your book?
They kept things on track from start to finish. SPARK Publications made sure the story would be a seller, from its art, to the trim size, to the process of sending the book to press.
What advice do you have for other authorpreneurs and aspiring writers?
Go into it with a manuscript. Know your storyline and your audience. Know your goals. Be prepared for road blocks and hurdles on the journey of publishing—don’t give up! And always utilize a publisher to help with all the moving parts.
Tell us about your future plans—what’s next for you?
I plan to get my book into bookstores all over the state and do readings at local spots. After that? I’m writing book two! Same characters, new lesson for the kiddos.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is seeing people genuinely happy while holding your product, reading your book, or supporting your dreams. It’s a feel-good aspect of the notion, “I did this for a reason—to make others happy and bring joy.”
