It s also more than the name of the foundation my husband, Mike, and I set up with a portion of the profits from our businesses. Creating a world of difference is the operating principle that makes our work and our lives meaningful. It is the personal standard we ve set for ourselves and the professional code we ve established for our companies. For more than a decade, Mike and I believed we were in the staffing business. We were successful, too. The business grew and expanded across the country. But over time, we figured out something big: We aren t in the staffing business filling positions we are in the people business, fulfilling dreams. We were doing the right thing, but we were minimizing our contribution to the world. Once we understood how the work we did aligned with a higher purpose, our companies started to reflect our deepest beliefs: We believe in the power of the human spirit. We believe everyone who desires a better life should have the opportunity to reach for that dream. We believe each of us help create the conditions that make it possible for others to achieve their dreams.
