The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), a trade group fostering excellence in B2B journalism, has unveiled the regional and national finalists for its annual Azbee awards. PPAI Magazine, redesigned from PPB Magazine by SPARK Publications, won gold in both the regional and national competition.
Here’s the blurb PPAI’s Josh Ellis wrote about the redesign: “The rebranding and redesign of PPAI Magazine – formerly PPB (Promotional Products Business) – was executed in concert with the changing mission and vision statements of Promotional Products Association International, the industry’s largest non-profit trade association. Mission: Be the voice and force to advance the promotional marketplace for the benefit of our community. Vision: Promotional products are universally valued and essential to every brand. Stylistically, the new visual approach and typefaces echo a more serious approach to serving readers. The rebranding is meant to underscore the content’s value to modern executives and promote PPAI and its messaging as vital to the industry’s long-term health. From the brand emphasis on green color (signifying the importance of sustainability in the industry) to the renaming of the magazine’s sections to make their purpose more clear to readers and aligned with the mission and vision, everything about the new PPAI Magazine is deliberate.”
ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence program is one of the most competitive there is for business-to-business, trade, association, and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines and digital media — websites, e-newsletters, digital magazines, social media and blogs.
