Is there a particular moment that SPARKed your interest in writing a book?
I sold my business and COVID hit. I found myself looking out over the lake by my house and wondering what I was supposed to do next. I remembered a woman telling me to turn obstacles into opportunities. That woman was Fabi Preslar, Owner of SPARK Publications.
What surprises did you encounter on the road to writing and publishing the book?
As I wrote, I realized I hadn’t celebrated my successes because I was always looking towards the next thing. Writing this book gave me the chance to reflect on my achievements and inspire other business owners to do the same.
Now that your book is published, are there any goals or experiences you’re looking forward to?
I am building my mastermind business/leadership groups to help leaders rise above their circumstances. I’m also enjoying speaking to groups and on stage as an inspirational speaker to share lessons learned while building an industrial business while facing critical health issues. I simply want to help leaders triumph and soar through the adversity, whatever that looks like for them.
What advice do you have for other authorpreneurs and aspiring writers?
I was scared it wouldn’t be good. So I didn’t talk about it or promote it. But when I saw the final product, I was pleasantly surprised.
