Monique on working with SPARK Publications
I cannot imagine working with any other publishing company ever again. SPARK Publications provided me with the personal touch (bedside manner) that I needed. Publishing a book can feel like a daunting task, however they have mastered the balance in support yet placing an emphasis on accountability. As a busy entrepreneur, they offered all that I needed!
Is there a particular moment that SPARKed your interest in writing a book?
This will be the fifth book I have published. This book is special because it has provided me an opportunity to showcase others who I feel have a book within themselves and may not have the belief that they too can publish one. A desire to both inspire them and help others to identify seeming obstacles to their success sparked my interest.
What surprises did you encounter on the road to writing and publishing the book?
Life will happen as you are working on writing and publishing. I would have never imagined a pandemic would break out in the middle of my project, that I would lose three individuals near and dear to my heart, that I would get re-married, open a brick and mortar six weeks before the pandemic and try to work through so much more.
How did SPARK Publications help in championing and publishing your book?
SPARK Publications helped me to stay focused and were amazing accountability partners. Even through major life crises, they were understanding, patient, and compassionate. They allowed me the time needed to grieve and I’m sure they didn’t realize that the Zoom calls to guide me live through some processes actually helped unload my heavy heart while still allowing me to focus on completing my project.
Now that your book is published, are there any goals or experiences you’re looking forward to?
I am looking forward to the workshops, book clubs, and events that will be centered around the message of the book and the lives that will be impacted. I am looking forward to hearing testimonies from those who contributed their journey and from those who read the book about their successes with new businesses, promotions, or changes in mindset as a result of reading and applying what has been learned. And that we will have inspired a few others to become authors.

If you could broadcast two sentences to the entire world, what would they be?
While you cannot change the past, you can change your mindset so you can reach your fullest potential.
Your value is not based upon the sum of monies in your bank account, nor in a piece of paper called a degree, but in your strength of character, the lives you choose to impact positively, and the depth of rich relationships you develop.
